as far as i remember my group played it this way...

if i had a C4 cybermage out ther with a promotion, and an opponent dropped a C6 on his turn, mine was useless until i, or someone eliminated his,or made mine stronger, because his was stronger. and i dont understand Gek, why promotions wouldnt work on a cyber-anything, well at least cyber crew.  but now i have a question about that. again as i remember, we could use 2 promotions on a cyber mage, giving us 2 extra plays and draws. it seemed silly to me at first, but i guess when you have it in your fleet, its great lol.  but everyone has their own house rules i guess.  i could be wrong though, i just remember that being played that way a few times, bignea would know more.

Technically, you're C4 would be equal strength. It adds 2 to the strength.

but was tied with itself.

It is still only one crew, regardless of how many split personalities you gave it. A Promotion doesn't duplicate the crew. Tied with itself, then treat it like it was a clone. Again, it would not work.

It doesn't work because of the wording on the cyber-anything says that the mage with the greatest strength gets the benefit. duplicate that function however many times you want and you still only have one mage with the gretest strength.

Guys, we worded it that way on purpose.

You do know if you have two cybermages, one adds half it's strength to the other, right?

well his would take precedence because he played it last, or thats the way we play. so yeah he tied my strentght but his was last played. so...well lets go out there a bit....if i had 3 cyber mages out there id still ony get one card from it? im confused on what you mean by that.  and as far as the promotion, dont it let a crew capable of one action to do all of them?  im really confused. lol.

OK, i know earlier there was an argument bout that.  some had it on the cards others did not.  Some took that as a ruling that all mages gave 1/2 its strength.

No, only the ones with the rule printed on them have that ability.

And, no, that was not a mistake.

Wasn't the C-4 and C-6 Mage the only ones that said they added 1/2 str?

not sure. Which is why I covered it with the ones that have it printed on the card, have the ability.

Is there a Dragon that has a CM ability?

Yeah, the D-7 Cyber Dragoness, from Piracy. But it doesn't add str.

Ok, I checked the database. Only the C-4 and C-6 Cyber mage have the half strength ability.

I think the C4 and the C6 are the only ones actually -called- Cybermages. There's a Psyber Mage and a Cyber Dragoness... but those are different words.

Use the Database. That's why it's there.

No, only the C-4 and C-6 Cyber mages have the ability to use half their strength to increase another mage in play.
