OK, forum dudes, I have an interesting one for you to comment about.  If an M10 Zaggath Guardian damages a unit placing damage on its structure, and then in reaction an L6 Spontaneous Explosions is played, does the Guardian take damage, or not.  The conflicting rules are as follows:

L6 - "This damage may damage cards susceptible to damage of any kind."

M10 - "Can only sustain damage when negating monster damage.  Cannot be healed."

My opponent argued the Zaggoth Guardian would HAVE to take the damage because of the wording on the L6.  I argued that Zaggoth's card rule says that it CAN'T take damage that way or any other way than stated on the Zaggoth card.  Since they contradict each other, I thought the M10 would take precedence over an L6 card.  What do you think?

-From the Rules 2.1:

" Occasionally, an interaction between two or more cards might become difficult to resolve. This is extremely rare and even if it occurs players should be able to come to an agreement about how to resolve the interaction. These interactions are resolved by vote and play continues as usual (resolve ties with a die roll).
Unresolved interactions will be formally resolved in the Galactic Empires bimonthly magazine, Galactic Fire. After resolution in Galactic Fire, votes are no longer used. Call Companion Games, Inc. at 1-607-XXX-XXXX to receive your free first issue. Subscribers receive an exclusive card with each issue!
Companion Games, Inc. answers rules questions by several means (on-line, phone, mail, at conventions, etc.). All answers given by Companion Games' personnel are tentative until published in Galactic Fire. "

-If i were casting a vote, per the above, i would vote that the L6 wins and can damage the M10.

I would give my reasoning, but heading out the door right now. Just know it involves the digestive system of the Monster. Appears still tied, i assume someone will come along and break the tie...in a month or so.

Our house rules state that ENTITY class cards trump all others. In this case,
the M10 would be immune to the L6 explosion.   In the case of two entity
class cards interacting with a conflict, the Entity power that imparts an
immunity affect would supersede the Entity power that is able to destroy.

For example, Yorl the Forsaken attempts to kill C10 War Veteran, the War
vet's immunity to crew card attacks would supersede Yorl's ability to kill
"any" crew card. The logic behind this argument is that two demigods of
equal power, trying to kill each other is going to be VERY difficult....and the
C10 War Vet is not just "any" crew...he is THE crew. :)

Another reason why the L6 does NOT damage the M10 is the specific
wording on the L6. "This damage may damage cards susceptible to
Damage of any kind.

The M10 is NOT susceptible to damage of any kind. The only way you can
"harm" the M10 is by it's special ability to absorb damage from other
monsters. This is not "damage" as much as it is a special power taking
effect causing a strength reduction in the M10. Note the wording on the
M10....this card ONLY takes damage when negating other monster
damage....cannot be healed.

So again...this is not "normal" damage...especially since it can't be healed.
This is a special power taking effect on the strength rating of the
monster....which is VERY different then doing direct damage!!   The L6
would not cause any harm to the M10.

I concur. The entities are special. I would say that the L6 does not damage the M10.
