Haven't played in a long time but ran across my cards when moving and a casual search landed me here. Nobody to play with - except maybe the kids. I'm going to try to make a simpler version of the game for playing with young (age 6-8) kids. Anyone ever do anything like this?

-Have not, although the easiest way to do it with the RAW would be to limit deck size to the minimum allowed.
Modify it as you see fit, of course. You could always treat it just like a Magic:TG or other game that uses a similar set up. Just don't tell WOTC what yer doin'.

If you modify, this naturally becomes less useful, but was helpful to me.

First, simplest game rules.
War
Throw together a bunch of ship cards of any kind.
Play it just like a game of war with a regular deck of playing cards.
Hey, at least you are using your GE cards for something!
