Ok I've never seen this but have always wondered if it would work. Scorpead fires 8 damage at the Argonian player. Can the Bollaar player play a phaser malfunction against the scorpead. The rulebook 2.0 does not say this cannot be done. While the phaser malfunction may not help the bollaar player, other cards may. Also perhaps by reacting with R/l4 micomunication the bollaar player could make the scorpead fire at the argonian player's explosive ore carrier or even an argonian planet. By forcing the scorpead to fire at a planet it may prevent the argonian from engaging or by firing at the explosive ore carrier, eliminate that ship and the scorp player both; a very enticing thought I would think.
What say you?
Oh and an earlier post about reaction cards (time skip i think) where as to resolving the weapons fire or some such. In the PLAYING REACTION CARDS section page 12 universe 2.0 rule book..."-If a card is removed from play as a reaction before being resolved, thecard will be resolved upoen returning to play."
