I play M9 kraken and a A5 genetic variant to it, which is played to the monster by card rule.

can the temp be played to both or one or none?

The temp states when played this card allows the owning player to discard one card played or in play against the fleet.

Could you post the text on A5 Genetic Variant text? I'm not familiar with that card.

But if it's your Kraken you want to discard, it's not played or moved against your fleet. It's in your fleet.

I don't believe the Kraken moves against opponent fleets, so an opponent wouldn't be able to use the Temport Correction on it.

Hope that helps!

A5 genetic variant - played to a monster normally damaged by research.

only research points generated by crew may be applied to the monster. monster may not be healed.

The kraken is played against a fleet. negated by 9 research points.

Sure then. The Temporal Correction doesn't say it can't target the basis of a stack.

If you played the Kraken, your opponent can play a Temporal Correction against it, discarding both it and the Genetic Variant.

Your opponent could not play it against JUST the Genetic Variant, but why would he want to.

This topic has come up before. Some typs of ability cards are like
equipment...others are like personal attributes. I think A cards that affect
the basic attributes of a target should be considered permanently combined
with that target and not subject to individual card plays or attacks. I think A
cards which act as a temporary enhancement should still be able to be
targeted seperately with card actions/card plays. Any comments on this
idea?

in theory each A card should be marked similar to the E cards, but they aren't.
