Okay, what happens when a ship with a C10 Legendary Officer, which states
that the fire can't be negated or redirected, attempts to fire on a fleet that
has a C10 War Prophet, which states it can negate one vollet against the
fleet?

While card text is supposed to always over rule the rulebook, what happens
when two different card texts, particularly on equal strength cards, conflict
with one another?

Any ideas?

scratch my earlie thoughts the fire cant be negated because that effect is in play before you can use the effect of the war profit

A careful reading of the two cards seems to clear this up in my mind. The C10 Legendary Officer states "-All weapons fire from location cannot be neagtively modified by cards played in reaction."

Since the War Prophet is not played in reaction but rather acts in reaction the Legendary Officers rule can't be activated. The C10 War Prophet can negate the fire from the Legendary Officers ship.

I agree....a card action is not a card play.
