Hola

If an Aqaaran ship is on terrain ,making the ship a base, and the terrain is destroyed by card damage the base could not stop, does the Aqaaran base become an undamaged ship since it is no longer on terrain?

Can the terrain be discarded under an Aqaaran base making it a ship?

If the ship is on terrain making it a base rather than a ship, I would think the
ship would take the damage before the terrain. The rulebook specifically
states that all bases on terrain must be destroyed before the terrain can be
damaged. Since you're talking about card damage though, its debatable;
some bases protect terrain against card damage, and some don't. Unless
there's a specific rule for Aqaarans that says the do or don't stop card
damage when they're bases, you'll need to decide with your group.

As for the discarding of the terrain, I'd say the ship would have to be
discarded as well, as a base it is part of the terrain stack.

Mogwai, Bases protect Terrain from Weapons Fire unless otherwise noted on the base card, so it's perfectly possible to have a Terrain blown away with card damage.

Aqaarans can only change from Ship to Base or vice versa durring the Ship Movement/Allocation phase. In fact, the rulebook specificaly states under the Aqaaran empire description that an Aqaaran base is discarded if the Terrain is. So unless there's a reaction card that allows an Aqaaran to move from a terrain about to be destroyed they are discarded along with the terrain.

That would be an R/E 2 Base Responder from GI. Allows the Aqaaran to
immediately leave the planet!
