-Yeah, we tried Highlander (tm) style GE a few days ago. The game took waaay too long because i couldn't draw terrain after the initial hand o' 9. had plenty of dragons ready to go, in play, etc. i think the ratio was right but i just got a bad shuffle.

As for fun factor, i think both Galaktische and i were using cards we hadn't in, well, ever. So that was cool. I will revamp the deck a bit to include less occurences and probably more Luck cards and/or Hazards. I gambled that i would hit a crew-heavy deck from Galaktische and stocked illness, plagues, etc. After review, even if he had played with more crew i don't think they're worth inclusion in this format.

I'm not good at write-ups of our matches because i forget pretty much every turn after we play it. The one thing we decided to do was treat Clydon kinda like the Krebiz. Play a warcraft to a carrier, they combine. That lead to one big-ass ship Galaktische had towards the end, but command point limitations prevented it from getting too out of hand. Not sure if that's even close to what the rules say but it worked in our game and made them tough to put down early.

That's it from me, I'll give Galaktische the opportunity to comment if he feels it necessary. Have a good week all, i'll post the HIghlander deck after i tweak it so you can see what i'll be playing next time (and pretty much what i played with last time after building the deck over my lunch hour monday).....Lobo

I had a good time playing Highlander with Lobo. It did cause me to play cards I might not have otherwise. I'm not sure posting my deck list would do anyone any good as I built it at the last possible minute.

I literally took one of every Clydon ship and their allies the Paraloid that I owned. I mixed in a lot of cards to protect my ships and tried to play somewhat defensively hoping to build a coupl of really big ship stacks. I managed to get one but didn't make enough command points. We continued to count the little Clydon ships as seperate entities even after they were combined. Thus, my S6 with 2 S2 warcraft on it consumed both of my command points.

As for the game itself Lobo has a disturbing ability to drop a D8, D9, or D10 on turn 2 and that makes life difficult. I suspected I wasn't going to win when I played an R/E10 Hypercube in order to save an S1 Paraloid Scout Craft.

I did manage to hang on for a while and made good use of an M4/6 Temporal Snake but I don't think the outcoume was ever in doubt. He played the D8 Dragoness that comes into play engaged on turn 2 and all I had were a couple of warcraft (S1-S2) for the first 4-5 turns.

Still I had a good time and will tweak the deck for the next match up.

J--
