-Psys. I did not include a monster sideboard to account for Psys, so all of those "Does damage to ships" monsters were useless, and i just held those cards in my hand until i ran out of dragons to block.

Next time, will include a sideboard to switch out ship-eating cards like Sextaraan Web Crawlers and Astromorphs with terrain-eating cards and Sludges.....Lobo

Rule #3 in deck building, you have to have cards that can deal with your opponents crew. :)

If your opponents crew just happen to be Psys, bonus!

-No, yer right. I did have a few, but in a 110 card deck a few take a while to draw. If this had not been just a friendly game, i would have not left out the terrain-affecting cards. That would have at least given me a chance to deal with them with planet gouges, scandig blobs, burrowers, Vyzmiez(sp) line of cards (still need a M6 of that one), etc.

I won't play it again unless it is in multi-player, but will be sure to include more ways to deal with crew. Have a good week all.....Lobo

I'm starting to see more and more that an essential combo in any deck is a
C8 General and a C9 Marauder. I'm starting to put 2 in every deck I build.

We should probably both announce our races ahead of time. In truth, I planned to make a new deck with ships but based on crew to work against the monster menace.

When I sat down to do it, I couldn't finish it so I fell back on the other decks I had. Amongst them, the only deck I had built that stood a chance against that many monsters was the Psy deck.

IMO, Psys are strong when you're not prepared for them but weak when you are prepared for them.

So, from now on let's announce races ahead of time.

This is standard practice in our group, and we do it informally. We've never
had a problem with "Oh, if you're going to play X, then I'm changing to Y"
and then "Well then I'm changing to Z!" "Then I'm changing to Q!"

Well, it *IS* in the rule book that you are suppose to do this. :P

Not sure how your groups play but we're pretty informal. We play with several gentleman's agreements - we don't go after terrain wholesale, we don't play with Time Knights (at least not yet).

Though, I'm going to start announcing my race.

It was a joke. Nobody EVER does this.

And, nobody modifies their deck because of it.

Hell, if I was playing against Scorpead, I'd go grab a few more Asteroid Shields and Phaser Malfunctions.

But, ideally, you would build your deck to take on all comers.

-in that case...

*Ahem*

I have an announcement to make...

Anyone that ever plays me will face either my Dragon deck with monsters as secondary focus, my Scorpead deck with equipment as secondary focus, or my Tufor deck with equipment as secondary focus.

Dragon, Scorpead, Tufor.

Bring it!
