Me, Galactus, and Deth Ray played GE yesterday; the game took us 7
hours.
I played my bolaar deck, Ray played Tufor, and G-man was Council
Indirigans. Indirigans got a war prophet into play early on, which made
this difficult. No one had anything to deal with it, and he also had a spy
so whenever I did get something he'd discard it.
Ray got a double agent on the war prophet, and I got a C9 and C10 time
knight into play. I also had a research developer and with economy i
was cranking out 49 research a turn, and buying 6 or 7 cards each
allocation. It was only the last ten turns or so I was able to do that and
by then Galactus had pretty much sealed the game.
Overall it was quite a game, each of us getting strong and then getting
pounded by the other two... eventually Ray and I teamed up to try and
stop him, but it was already too late by then. A lot of fun. I burned
through 117 cards of my 228 card deck.

Do you games regularly go to 7 hours? In my group, with 3-4 players, our games will typically go 3-4 hours until its down to two players, with one person obviously about to win but unable to do so for 2-3 turns, so we call it and start another one to save time.

Back in the day, games did take a long time. 7 hours for a three player game is pretty long though.
I was thinking average of about an hour per player.

That was probably the longest game we've ever played to my memory.
We play a little differently with 3+ players though; we don't play that
someone is out of the game when they've taken 25 pts of SHQ damage.
We also play that in order to win one player has to do 25 pts of SHQ
damage to every opposing player. So in the above game, Galactus had to
do 25 pts to each of us to win.
In general though, our GE games with 3 players usually take 2 - 3 hours.

That's an interesting idea. Part of the reason our games take so long is nobody wants to take someone out of the game so they can't play because they'd just be watching for the next 1+ hours until a new game starts.

The above is our solution to that problem. It also makes from some
interesting game dynamics/politics.
