Hi folks,

I'm posting this for two reasons.

1) I'm trying a new browser and want to make sure it works with this site.

2a) I was in a game a couple weeks ago where the issue of minor empires came up. I was playing my Corporate deck, which has both Council of Six Indirigans, some Corporate Pirates, and Time Knights in it. One of my opponents claimed that I couldn't have more than one minor empire in a deck, which I said wasn't true. As far as I've been able to figure out you can have more than one minor empire in a deck.

2b) Further, I argued (as I understand the concensus here to be) that minor empire units are stocked by their card type. That is, Vektrean bases as minor empire units require you have four other bases that are either from your major empire or are just regular bases. I also noted that the same applies to Time Knights for example, if you have 3 Time Knights in your deck as a minor, then you need to have at least 12 other non-minor crew in your deck to satisfy the 4:1 rule. I also argued that you can have ships from more than one minor empire in your deck as long as you cover the 4:1 rule for all those minors. (We've played with the house rule that Corporate Pirates are treated as Allied to the Corporation, which I believe was suggested here as the best way to treat them.)

Am I correct in my assumptions?

Thanks.

You're quite correct. There's nothing in the rule book which says only one minor empire may be used, it only limits the total number of minor empire cards in each card type to 1:4. If he still doesn't believe you print out the Winning Tournament Deck from Galactic Fire #3 page 7 (8), which includes 2 Time Knights, Lone Wolf & Nagiridni ships (in a Tufor deck), and a 2 Vektrean Asteroid Bases.

Wait a minute MogwaiSC....You did not have 4 time nights...you had like
20...stocked as if they were common crew cards....then you changed it after
I brought up the fact that Time Knights were a minor empire and that you
had ignored the stocking rules. I never said you can only have one minor
empire per deck....as I have always had three minors in my Bolar deck
(Vektrean and Nagaridni and Vincennes) You decimated us by having 4 fleet
ships and 4 Time Knights in play all at the same time!!! I thought the odds
of pulling all four of your minor empire cards was a little outrageous...and
that is when you said you had 20 Time Knights in the deck IN ADDITION to
the 20 minor empire ships supporting your major empire.   Get the story
straight....
