I have been reserching Copyrite Registration and found that the Company never bothered to Register a copyrite for anything. That is not to say that a copyrite isn,t still in effect but it makes it possible to challenge any infrigment claim except for Melissa Benson who registered her own art. I have not checked the other artists but they do not come up under Companion Games . I will proceed to see if I can find record of any other artists that may have registered art for cards. I am also attempting to find the actual findings of the Bankruptsy. Any help Apreciated. Any one have the Docket number?

I see someone else is trying to do what I was trying to.
Albany Biegel. That's all I know.

-Not that i think it's worth it (because i don't) but it's pretty darn easy to get the bankruptcy records of NY fed courts if you just register through the PACER system the fed has set up. The registration is free and they charge a few cents a page for access to documents. A phone call may work but clerks usually aren't friendly to phone calls of that nature and will direct you to the online access.
You could also hop on Lexis or Westlaw for info, but those cost money unless you make friendly with a law school student (they love researching crap that isn't for school) or attorney with access to the system. The information that filing provides may be limited, however, but should at least provide a lead on who you need to talk with to accomplish whatever it is you are trying to do.
Good luck.....Lobo

I believe Lissane Lake registered her art. I remember talking to her at one of the Edison get togethers (she signed a C-9 Senior Admiral for me).
Other then her, Melissa and Foglio, I doubt any other artists even bothered.

You still need to see the actual court documents. I went through PACER, it did give me docket numbers and such, but it didn't allow me access to the actual documents. For that you will need to go to Albany.

-That's weird, you can usually get docs for a small fee through PACER membership...NY courts must be weird about it...ah well.....Lobo

Well, you might have been able to mail away for the documents as well.
I lost interest rather quickly.

I'll grab Verc and we'll head up there next week. His car is better on gas then my Gas sucking 5.0HO Lincoln... ;)
Mine's quicker, faster and alot more comfortable, but at a humbling 18mpg Highway, it adds up fast...
