-Howdy all. In my zeal to put together a small deck, i didn't consider how to actually make it competitive. However, so i don't have to trash the idea altogether (as i am sure Galaktische will enjoy continually beating the snot out of me) i'm posting here for comments, suggestions, and general ridicule.

In version 2.0 of this deck, i would prefer Time Warps to Divergent Anomalies but i only own the one. Other changes will likely include swapping out terrain to use some that are more stout and less susceptible to attack from various sources, as well as the possible addition of either Monster or Luck cards in place of the 5 Bases.

Reserve:

R/E2 Transporter and S2 Infected Patrol Ship

Deck:

  • H1 Time Warp
  • H1 Divergent Anomaly x4
  • C1 Tax Collector
  • C2 Ordinance Officer
  • C3 Cryo Convict
  • R/C4 Marine x2
  • A1 Automaton
  • A2 Logic
  • A2 CyberMage Implant x3
  • R/O1 Time Skip x4
  • O9 Catastrophic Repetition (exception)
  • E1 Explosive Mine x2
  • E9 Future Ship x2 (exceptions)
  • B1 Personal Base x5
  • R/S1 Ship From The Future
  • S3 Infected Ship (sorry can't remember names of these)
  • S4 Police Ship
  • S5 Infected Ship
  • S6 Infected Ship
  • S7 Infected Ship
  • S8 Infected Ship
  • S9 Infected Ship
  • S10 Infected Ship
  • T1 Large Asteroid
  • T/H2 Plasma Field
  • T3 (can't remember name, nothing special)
  • T4 White Dwarf
  • T5 Galactic Trade World
  • T6 Indirigan Former Homeworld
  • T7 Water World
  • T8 Turrel V: Infected World x2
  • T9 Shinnicera

The Count: (50) 5 H, 5 C, 5 O, 5 A, 5 B, 10 S, 10 T, 5 E

The Plan: Even with the S2 out, if i can grab the catastrophic repetition early and clear a path by using the Time Skips and Divergent Anomalies, i can come darn close to a one-shot win. Naturally, opponent will have their own Skips and other methods of fighting that off, so the free phasers from the bases and the equipment cards are there to help in destroying ships. Time Skips should be used sparingly as the deck is susceptible to all sorts of nastiness.

I played 3 games with this deck, and i didn't draw a single time skip in the first two. That severely cut my ability to protect much of anything as Galaktische was able to lock me down and take his time. The third game i had a chance only because Galaktische took it easy on me. I don't want him to have to do that again. The deck isn't fast as i need two cards to start the Cyber Mage benefits. I had considered replacing the C's with Suark Breeds to try getting some sort of advantage with onlny one card needed.

As always, suggestions, threats, comments welcomed. Have a good day.....Lobo

I think that GE as a 'Duel' (1 vs 1) game has a real weakness in that a fast deck can lock down the terrain output of another player and really retard their ability to develop. In the first two games, against this deck, I hammered Lobo's ability to engage cards by attacking his terrain. It was not all through damage. When it looked like he might be able to engage an S10 with reactionary phaser fire I O1 Time Skipped his terrain that would allow the engagement. This gave me another turn to lock him down.

The second had a similar theme - slow down his play by limiting his terrrain.

The third game I chose not to attack his terrain to see how his deck performed and it was better - of course. In this particular game I relied on only 3 terrain for the most part and therefore should have been susceptible to this tactic myself. However, Lobo's deck couldn't muster enough damage to destroy more than 1 or two ships.

I wonder how many of Lobo's losses are due to his deck and how many are due to the nature of GE Duels?

I'm not sure what the 'official' rules are for GE currently but in the 2.1 version on Eric's website a 50 card deck is only allowed one exception.

If anyone cares, the decks I played against him are listed in the Decks area - Bolaar/Indirigan and Tufor/Erodi.

J--
