Will a O10 planetary destruction work when a B10 dyson sphere is on a terrain.

B10 says terrain cannot be destoyed by any means untill the B10 is.

the O10 says the terrain is destroyed and all ships and bases played to it.

In my opinion the B10 rules apply and overrule the O10.  The Dyson is the exception to the rule of the O10 where bases are destroyed.

FWIW I agree with Eaglepreacher. The Dyson Sphere says the terrain cannot be destroyed until the base it destroyed. The O10 destroys the Terrain & Base simultaneously, so cannot destroy the terrain because it's protected by the Base until after the Dyson Sphere is destroyed.

Don't 'can't' effects usually override 'can' effects? I think that's how we usually play them here.

This actually came up in tournament play before.

The ruling was that the terrain was not destroyed, but the B10 base (and everything played to the base) WAS destroyed.

read it carefully. It says it destroys more than JUST terrain. The second rule function says it destroys ships and bases on the terrain.

IMO the tournament ruling was correct.

At one of the retreats a similar situation arose where the O10 was played
against a terrain with two (yes 2) of the nasty B9 planetary shields. The
terrain was immune to O's. The ruling was that the terrain remained but
both bases were lost.
