Has anyone ever thought or tries to do simultaneous phases.   It would definitely make it easier to see who had the strongest cybermage in play.  Of course there as always would be the problems of card plays and such.  But the questions I have are.  Would it make it funner without changing the game nmechanics too much?  Would the games go longer?    I can definitely see strategies changing .. like holding off card plays for the ose reaction cards.  just in case?  Is itworth pursuing or discussing?

This might be fun to try for one game... but it just seems like it'd be hard to keep track of.

That and we tried it, with the whole Played Engaged variant. Building GE decks like MtG: Terrain, Ships, and everything else.

You guys should try it sometime. It's kinda fun, but only for a little while.

Just a side note: In the above refrain of Terrain, Ships and everything else, the whole deck stocking system is thrown out completely.

The only restrictions we imposed were Deck size, and that a THIRD of your deck had to be Terrain. 90-120 cards was the max deck.

Have fun!

in the simultaneous game I can see where playing engaged would work if ,like in B-tech, allplayers get to declare fire, then all players shoot then the ships are discarded at end of phase if enuff damage is done.

My idea of tracking would be based on trust for allocation/engagemnt  phase and everyone would activate ships, equipment, C class etc and declare Card plays out loud.  When done say done.  Play Card A phase each player would play 1 card with only 3 second to choose or pass.  If passing that player may play no cards except reaction cards which also go against the limit. Then fire declaration weapon phase.  Then card phase B etc.

Hmm, First Strike would be a nice add on, letting a ship get an alpha strike in on an opponent unit before it could return fire.
