Well, the post title pretty much sums it up.
http://ogc-con.com/main.html
The Open Gaming Convention happens once a year in New Hampshire. It
runs from Friday through Sunday on a weekend over the summer, they have
it at hotels were they can book a convention area so people can game
pretty much the whole time, or get a room and sleep when they feel like
it. They're not too strict on what kind of events happen. I could
register a GE tournament, or get a few tables for gaming if people are
interested.
Post a reply if you'd like to make it, especially if you have a couple people.
If the numbers seem decent, I'll put in for that tournament. I could put up a few entities as prizes, nothing promo though.

-Yeah, it's that whole "New Hampshire" thing that limits me personally. Now if they start holding the convention in Tulsa or OKC i'm there.
Good luck with it, have a good weekend.....Lobo

Yeah, if someone were interested in running an event at GenCon, you might get a little more interest.

This will happen again in '08, I'd be happy to run a tournament with the following House Rules: ==================================================== 1. Reactionary World is a prototype.
2. C5/5 Time Knight only affects stacks in your fleet.
3. The Spy Planets are not allowed, but crew or whatever with spy functions are fine.
4. When rules questions come up, you will discuss them in a calm manner and abide by a majority ruling. Our group has the current reigning winner of the last Masters Tournament, as well as a member of the Council of Six. They know their stuff.
5. Proxies of Promos and other Really Really Rare cards is allowed. Use your discretion and mark your proxies clearly by sliding a white piece of paper with the card name inside.
Include a printout of the text of any card you proxy unless it's all on the actual proxy slip. I'd recommend using the Card Museum and just copying the pictures of the cards you want into a word document. ====================================================
I'd be more than happy to use some of my cards as prizes... but that would limit the prize pool to cards from Primary/Universe/PotM/Time Gates/Piracy, and a few promos.
It'd be nice if maybe everybody could bring 3 really card to find cards with them to put into the prize pool... but we can always discuss this later.

If we could move this to say, Philadelphia, I think you would get a better turnout. After all, there are NINE (9) GE players in and around the Philly area, plus a plethora of Hotels, Motels and such to hold a convention of sorts. And, if it were to be held in Philly, since we're really only talking GE, I'd be willing to put up some really nice Promo stuff I recently acquired. Got TONS of the stuff... Now, where did the living room TV go? Ah! There it is, behind all these 5000ct boxes of GE cards...

Well, this convention is held at a hotel, so rooming wouldn't be terribly expensive. If the people in Philly wanted to put something together, with enough notice, I could probably make it.

I could make New Hampshire if you tell me where,I am a newbe to actual play though. Whats with all the views here and only the same people responding? Some of you Newbees can respond No one has been phasered over the net lately. Put in your 2cents. I could try to bring some hard to get cards. Cheap or trade.

That website should be updated by January with the location of the 2008 convention. I'll put in for a GE event then.

I might be able to make it. It depends on how much warning I get ahead of time. As an OTR trucker, I usually bring my decks and such with me to give me something to do during layovers and such.
I'll keep you posted.

Well, this is going to be at a hotel. I'm not sure which yet, but if you can make it down it'd be worth your while. They run all sorts of events throughout the weekend at this convention.
