So what do you guys use monsters for?
There's a lot of different Monsters with a wide variety of effects. Redgelon and Skull Reaper destroy ships. Phaser Eels incapacitate ships. Scandig Blob incapacitates terrain.
What are your favorite uses for monsters?

-I loved using Monsters in decks, typical decklist for mine would be whatever i had to throw in, like:
R/M1 Sextaaran Web Crawlers M2 Offspring M3 Phase Rats M4/6 Temporal Snake M5 Astromorph x4 M6 Scentari Snail M7 Trilateral Textangula (not real happy with this one) M8 Tectonic Marauder x2 M8 Psy Entrantrix M8 Ship Collector x2 R//M9 Luck Demon x2 M10 Zaggoth Mordeth M10 Zaggoth Guardian
Anything that ate ships always fun. I had some luck using a deck that had 0 terrain, lots of monsters in it, but without bigger ships it did not have the firepower to finish off the opponent. They can be fun.

what do you think about Kraken, Redgelon, and Skull Reaper? Your choices are definately not bad, I'm just wondering what you think of them.
Kraken's hard to kill(only damaged by research) and does 9 damage. But it is required to spread out damage, although that last part can be mitigated by choosing to do it's damage last after the other monsters have already smashed things.
Redgelon only does 4 damage each turn, but heals itself in the process.
Skull reaper can do 12 damage each turn, but the damage is 4 to each of 3 targets. You can boost it's damage with Skullets, but each skullet only ups the total damage by 2.

Here are a few doozies for you...
M4 Planet Gouge with R/A6 Soft Chewy Center of the Planet
M10 Zaggoth Mordeth played with A4 Bionic Enhancement and A4 Perfect
specimen
M7 Astromorph with A4 Bionic Enhancement and R/A4 Sneak Attack
A5 Mind Mold Symbionts played with any of the following monsters:
M4 Harvesters with
M3 Scandig Blob
M4 Spacetacean
M3 Invinco Guardian
(You can also supplement any of the above with either the A2 or A4
Perfect Specimen)
M5 Occumbus with R/A4 Sneak Attack (to stop ALL incoming enemy fire)
try and pair this combo up with an R/O1 Time Skip so you can counter act
someone elses reaction to your reaction!!
M9 Kraken played with A4 Bionic Enhancement and A4 Perfect Specimen
M10 Time Keeper played with either an M1 Defiler or M3 Research
Mandator
just a few examples from my Monster/Dragon Deck of DEATH &
Dismemberment :)

-My favorite addition to the monsters, and one that worked quite well on astromorphs, was the A5 Temporal Comprehension.
Happy hunting.

Oooh... double damage! painful!
Anyone ever find a good reason to use Duo-Brain on a monster? I'm still trying to figure this one out.

""Anyone ever find a good reason to use Duo-Brain on a monster?""
-Geko Gnats are the most obvious, i'd have to look at the card museum here at work to think of any others.
Lobo, hating this carrier zone crap and pointing out that bullington is still the better site for posting

For Dragons, there are a few that generate research, it works on those. Does it work on shield points? A few monsters have shields.
BTW, what were your thoughts on REdgelon and skull reaper?

Duo-Brain would not work on Geko Gnats, as it does not affect damage points.
The Psy Entrantrix is the only Monster I see that generates points.
My thoughts on the Skull Reaper is that it is too easy to get rid of. Research and/or weapons fire? So, if you save it when I research it out of existence, I can shoot it? Much better M9s to play with.
Redgelon is cute in that it can repair itself, but it doesn't do enough damage. Why not Ship Collector? or Temporal Conscience? or Time Defiler?

-That's what i get for trying to post from memory instead of checking the museum first.
