Hi folks,
Just for fun, here's the list of ships I've put together for my Bolaar deck,
as I'm in the process of revising it. I may change this later, depending
on what I can come up with.
1x R/S1 Ship from the Future
1x S2 Fleet Tug
1x S3 Independent Tug
4x S4 Bolaar Cargo Express
4x S5 Independent Pirate Ship
4x S5 Bolaar Heavy Cargo Express
3x S6 Independent Pirate Cruiser
3x S6 Bolaar Battlecruiser
3x S6 Bolaar Pirate Raider Leader
3x S6 Bolaar Command Cruiser
2x S7 Independent Pirate Ship
3x S7 Violator's Pirate
3x S7 Bolaar Dreadnought
2x S8 Lost Pirate Ship
2x S8 Violator's Pirate
2x S8 Vinciennes Pirate Battlecruiser
2x S8 Bolaar Battleship
2x S8 Bolaar Flagship
2x S9 Renegade Ship
2x S9 Violator's Pirate
2x S9 Vinciennes Pirate Dreadnought
1x S10 Ghost Lord
1x S10 Vinciennes Pirate Battleship
52 ships total, 45 good combat capable ships. I figure I should be able
to build a pretty fearsome deck around this fleet. Any suggestions?

I think that is a bit heavy on ships. You don't need that many to support the Vincennes/Violator because they are all Indirigan... 1 for every 2 instead of 1 for every 4.
You need 24 main empire ships, so I'd advise dropping the generic S5 Independant Pirate Ships and the S6 Independant Pirate Cruisers.

Wow, that'd be a great basis for a "Played Engaged" deck. Now add about 20 terrain and some luck/occurrence and you'd be ready to rock. :)

I try to pick planets that will completely engage one of my big ships by
itself, so that right away at the beginning of turn 3 I can engage whatever
ship I've pulled from drawing my hand. I've been considering putting a T5
Pirate System and an A4 Planescape in my reserve, specifically so I can
engage any ship I pull, no matter what it is, since almost every single ship I
have is a pirate. I've also been thinking about putting extra cards in that
will let me steal engagement. Additionally, I've already decided that two of
the E9 Perpetual Motion Devices I have will go in this deck.
I built to this size as I'm hoping to have the final deck be about 200 cards.

The Bolaar Covert System is a must have. Vektrea Prime will engage most of these too. You'll most definitely want custom terrain, as the HUGE Achilles heal to this deck is land destruction.
If someone starts cooking your terrain, it's over.

I have a pretty good selection of Promo terrain set aside for the deck; I
specifically have 3 of the T7 and 4 of the T4 Smuggler's Worlds, plus I was
planning on using 4 planescapes and 3 defended territories as well. I have
a couple of the T7 fantasy systems which engage the S7 generic pirates
exactly. I also have a bunch of the Medici terrain I was going to put in as
well. I'll get some work done on it over the weekend and report back with
my initial build. I'm aiming for 200 cards.

Just finished building a 117 card Vektrean Fun deck. Not a single shred of MDRM in the deck. Built along the vein of cards used before MDRM gripped the whole GE community.
About 20 Ships, Terrain and bases. The rest of the cards just compliment the S,T,B category. Some hazards to 6, Monsters to 4; E went to 10 (Gotta have a docking ring! Nothing scarier then a Asteroid Starbase docked to a Dreadnought)
Crew went to 10, just so I could have the big kitty. :)
No luck at all, and Occurrences only go to 5! ;)
